Why does the battery acid SDS change with the brand?
The acid and the battery have separate sheets. Interstate Batteries' Battery Electrolyte / Battery Acid sheet lists skin corrosion Category 1A, serious eye damage Category 1 and carcinogenicity Category 1A. EnerSys's Battery Electrolyte sheet lists carcinogenicity Category 1A for mist and skin corrosion Category 1A. A wet battery has its own sheet, written for the battery as a whole; Interstate's and East Penn's sheets for batteries filled with acid are examples.
The sheets below carry dates from Dec 11, 2017.

The electrolyte is dilute sulfuric acid, which has its own chemical page: Sulfuric Acid (CAS 7664-93-9).
What should I read first on my sheet?
Decide whether you hold the electrolyte or the battery. Interstate's electrolyte sheet lists skin corrosion Category 1A, serious eye damage and carcinogenicity Category 1A, and EnerSys lists carcinogenicity Category 1A for mist and skin corrosion Category 1A. A corrosion class brings drenching and flushing where eyes or body may be exposed. The battery filled with acid has its own sheet, written for the battery as a whole.
