Why does the antifreeze SDS change with the brand?
Antifreeze is based on ethylene glycol or on propylene glycol, and the sheet follows the base. Prestone's MAX Antifreeze Concentrate sheet, prepared Jun 20, 2022, names ethylene glycol and lists acute toxicity Category 4, reproductive toxicity Category 2 and repeated-exposure organ toxicity Category 2. Prestone's LowTox sheet, prepared Nov 22, 2019, is a propylene glycol product and rates health and physical hazards as not hazardous. A premix has its own sheet apart from the concentrate.
The sheets below carry dates from Nov 22, 2019 to May 1, 2023.

The two sheets above name these substances, and each has its own chemical page: Ethylene Glycol (CAS 107-21-1), Propylene Glycol (CAS 57-55-6).
What should I read first on my sheet?
Find the base in Section 3, ethylene glycol or propylene glycol, then read Section 2. Prestone's MAX concentrate names ethylene glycol and lists three classes. Its LowTox sheet is a propylene glycol product that lists none. Check that the sheet is for the concentrate or the premix you hold, because they are separate documents.
