What this covers
Most employers with more than ten employees — outside the partially exempt low-hazard industries — must record work-related injuries and illnesses on the OSHA 300 log, post the 300A summary, and keep the records for five years. Severe events (fatalities, in-patient hospitalizations, amputations, eye loss) must be reported regardless of size. This pack covers the recordability call, the 301 form, the 300A with TRIR/DART, the ITA e-filing check, and retention.

Frequently asked questions
Who is exempt from OSHA injury recordkeeping?
Employers with 10 or fewer employees at all times during the year, and establishments in certain partially exempt low-hazard industries (1904.1–1904.2). Even exempt employers must still report fatalities and severe injuries to OSHA.
When must the 300A summary be posted?
From February 1 through April 30 each year, covering the prior calendar year — posted where notices to employees are customarily placed, and certified by a company executive.
How long do I keep the injury records?
Five years following the end of the calendar year they cover (1904.33), and you must update the 300 log during that period if you learn of new recordable cases or changes.
