How often must a competent person inspect an excavation after rain? (1926.651(k)(1))

Daily before work, as needed during the shift, and after every rainstorm or other hazard-increasing occurrence, under 29 CFR 1926.651(k)(1). OSHA sets no rainfall amount. Heavy-rain runoff brings a separate inspection under (h)(3), and pages that cite 1926.651(d) for the after-rain inspection are quoting the rule as it stood before 1990.
